Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partners Attended Interlaw 2018 Annual Global Meeting

On 24-27 October 2018, Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partners Mr. Willy Cheng and Ms. Lai Lam attended the Interlaw 2018 Annual Global Meeting held in Paris. The Annual Global Meeting was well attended by more than 140 delegates from multiple jurisdictions.

The theme of the Annual Global meeting was “Globalization under Protection”. The meeting focused on the impact of globalization on the increasing political trend of countries adopting more protectionist policies and regulations. Professor Philippe Dessertine from Paris Sorbonne University delivered a speech on the topic of “Globalization Under Protection”. Ms. Jo Aitken Summers also gave a presentation on “Responding to New Challenges. Delivering for Clients in a New Global Era”. Mr. Nick Davies gave a presentation and held a workshop on “Winning International Pitches – Influence and Persuasion” and “Winning International Pitches – How to Engage your Audience in your Presentation”.

During the event, Mr. Cheng attended several Special Business Team Meetings including “Managing Partners’ Breakfast”, “Mergers and Acquisitions” and “Employment, Labour and Pensions”. Ms. Lam is the Asia Pacific Chair of Interlaw’s Diversity, Inclusion & Community Group and co-chaired the Diversity, Inclusion and Community Breakfast on 25 October. She also attended the Special Business Team Meetings on “Sports Media and Entertainment” and “Global IP/IT”.

Stevenson, Wong & Co. will host the Interlaw 2019 Asia Pacific Regional Meeting between 20 February and 23 February 2019. We look forward to meeting and welcoming delegates and guests to Hong Kong.

Stevenson, Wong & Co. Attended Cross Border Planning for the Private Client – Asia 2018

On 25-26 October 2018, Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partners Ms. Catherine Por, Ms. Wendy Lam and Consultant Ms. Shirley Sin attended Cross Border Planning for the Private Client – Asia 2018 at Excelsior Hotel, Hong Kong. (中文) 由香港律师会主办「两岸四地青年律师论坛2018」于2018年10月25日至26日在香港赛马会跑马地马场举行,共吸引三百多名来自中国内地、台湾、澳门及香港本地的律师聚首一堂,本所合伙人暨香港律师会论坛筹委会会员徐凯怡律师和香港律师会论坛筹委会会员朱柏陵律师分别为本次盛会的主论坛和分组环节主持人。

本年度的主题为「法律创新:机会与挑战」,在徐凯怡律师主持的主论坛中,香港特别行政区律政司司长郑若骅女士、香港个人资料私隐专员公署助理个人资料私隐专员(法律、政策及研究部)杨秀玲律师、腾讯合规交易部高级法律顾问杜轩荣律师联同香港律师会前会长暨大中华法律事务委员会委员林新强律师对主题进行了深度探讨。

Stevenson, Wong & Co. Participated in the Third AllBright Football Championship

The Third AllBright Football Championship was successfully held in Chongqing on 21 October 2018. This was the second time that AllBright (Shenzhen) Office and Stevenson, Wong & Co. had a joint team participate in the competition. Qingdao team and our team had a nip-and-tuck battle in the 3rd place. The match was decided by a penalty shoot-out and the second runner-up was Qingdao. The winner of the championship was the joint team of Sichuan and Chongqing and Shanghai team B was first runner-up.

Stevenson, Wong & Co. Gave a Presentation to China Everbright Bank Hong Kong Branch

On 10 October 2018, Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partner Ms. Heidi Chui, Senior Manager of Banking and Finance Department Ms. Karmen Yeung and Associate Mr. Jensen Chang were invited to give a presentation to the senior management and core staff of China Everbright Bank Hong Kong Branch. They delivered a speech on the topic of “GDPR Industry Focus: How does GDPR impact Financial Services? Any extra challenge for banks, securities firms and insurance companies?”.
