As the first provincial-level work conference on foreign-related legal construction in Guangdong, the conference was attended by over 400 guests from various organizations and institutions. Ms. Chui was invited to attend the event as a Specially Invited Mediator from Hong Kong and Macao by the High People’s Court of Guangdong Province and received the appointment letter at the event.

The conference featured six forums in a “conference + parallel forum” format. Guests discussed various topics related to the rule of law, including foreign-related lawyers, arbitration, judicial work, talent cultivation, and enterprise service guarantee. The discussions promoted legal exchanges and cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao and to build an international brand for legal services in the Greater Bay Area.

At the forum, Gordon discussed and compared the listing requirements in different US markets, including Nasdaq Capital Market, Nasdaq Global Market, New York Stock Exchange and NYSE American. He introduced the process and focus of the US IPO project and shared his successful experience in US listings to help the audience better understand the US listing process.

The forum was well received and concluded with an engaging Q&A session involving business leaders, investors, financial and legal professionals.

The IAFL Asia Pacific Chapter Meeting, was held thoughout the period from 31 May to 4 June. It provided insights and updates on various aspects of family law and covered topics such as marriage-like relationships in Southeast Asia, the application of Sharia law in jurisdictions with mixed legal systems, international surrogacy law and the abduction of children to non-Hague convention countries.

The conference aimed to encourage collaboration in the modern service industry between Zhejiang and Hong Kong professionals and chambers to create more business opportunities and achieve mutual benefits. The conference attracted more than 300 guests from both regions. Through the “1+1” partner invitation method, 20 pairs of Zhejiang and Hong Kong enterprises were successfully matched, with a total contract value of approximately RMB 6.02 billion.
