On 22 March 2022, our Partner, Head of Banking and Finance department, and Dispute Resolution department, Ms. Heidi Chui, represented The Law Society of Hong Kong to meet with the Deputy Consul-General of Australia in Hong Kong, Mr. Ryan Neelam, and Consul Mr. Patrick Orchard, regarding the legal practice in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). Ms. Chui is a member of the Hong Kong Law Society’s Greater China Legal Affairs Committee and Vice-Chairperson of the Organising Committee of Cross Strait Four Regions Young Lawyers Forum 2022.

The meeting discussed the wealth of opportunities presented within the GBA, including the established framework for Hong Kong legal practitioners to qualify and practise law in the GBA, the GBA Legal Professional Examination and the Pilot Administrative Measures for Hong Kong legal practitioners to practise law in the GBA as issued by the Department of Justice of Guangdong Province.
