Stevenson, Wong & Co. advises on the IPO of Pacific Legend Group Limited (8547.hk)

Stevenson, Wong & Co. advised Pacific Legend Group Limited (“Pacific Legend”, Stock Code: 8547.hk) as its Hong Kong legal advisers on its initial public offering (“IPO”) on GEM of Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The IPO comprised an issue of a total of 250 million shares priced at HK$0.30 per share, raising gross proceeds of approximately HK$75 million.

Pacific Legend principally operates three lines of business, namely, (i) sale of home furniture and accessories; (ii) rental of home furniture and accessories; and (iii) project and hospitality services, which typically involve styling, decorating and furnishing commercial or residential properties such as hotels, serviced apartments and show flats.

The SW team was led by corporate partners Hank Lo and Cornelia Chu and senior associate Terence Lau, supported by registered foreign lawyer Matthew Chan.

The Sole Sponsor was Success New Spring Capital Limited. The Joint Lead Managers and Joint Bookrunners were Aristo Securities Limited, Supreme China Securities Limited, Opus Capital Limited and Success Securities Limited.

Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partner Mr. Stephen Wong Gave a Presentation for LexOmnibus

On 18 July 2018, Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partner Mr. Stephen Wong was invited by LexOmnibus to give a CPD course with the topic of “Regulations against Insider Dealing – from preventative to proactive” to lawyers and in-house counsel.

In the 3 hours course, Mr. Wong shared various topics regarding “Insider Dealing” and “Insider Information” including definitions, analysis from wrongdoers and victims, existing legal provisions and applications. He also shared some real cases and the skills required if their clients are investigated for insider dealing.

Catherine heads the Family Law Practice in the firm. Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partner Ms. Heidi Chui Appointed as Panel Adviser of Film Censorship Authority

We are delighted to announce that our Partner and Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department Ms. Heidi Chui has been appointed by Film Censorship Authority to the Panel Adviser from 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019. The Panel of Advisers is established under Section 6 of the “Film Censorship Ordinance” (Cap. 392) (“FCO”) to advise on the suitability of films for public exhibition.

Ms. Heidi Chui is an Arbitrator (on the panel list of the Law Society of Hong Kong), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (U.K.) and an Accredited General Mediator with both the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the Law Society of Hong Kong. She is also a member of the Arbitration Committee of The Law Society of Hong Kong and a China Appointed Attesting Officer. She has been appointed as Expert of professional Committee on Real Estate Arbitration of China Academy of Arbitration Law, a Practising Solicitor Member of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Panel and a member of Disciplinary Panel A of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Stevenson, Wong & Co. Participated in “Life Buddies Scheme” – Job Tasting Programme

On 27-28 June 2018, Stevenson, Wong & Co. participated in the “Life Buddies Scheme” – Job Tasting Programme. The scheme was launched by The Commission on Poverty in October 2015 to promote a mentoring culture in the community to help youths from disadvantaged backgrounds to move upward in society and thereby reducing intergenerational poverty.

During the two-day programme, the participants visited our law firm and handled tasks relating to different cases studies and research. They also attended a CPD course with our lawyers. Our associate Mr. King Tan shared his experience and anecdotes with the participants. “We now have a better understanding about a law firm and the role of a lawyer. We are happy to have joined this programme.”

On 25 June 2018, Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partners Ms. Heidi Chui and Ms. Sherlynn Chan attended the 50th Anniversary Kick-Off Ceremony of The University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Law. The ceremony was well-received and attended by The Honourable Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma, the Chief Justice of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal. Professor Andy Hor and Professor Michael Hor were respectively invited to deliver the speech and vote of thanks to the guests.
