本所合伙人和诉讼及争议排解部门主管律师徐凯怡律师作为香港律师会论坛筹委会委员，参与并主持了分组环节2：青年律师的未来　- 如何迎接人工智能与大数据时代。分组环节2邀请到来自两岸四地的嘉宾进行分享，包括中华全国律师协会青年律师工作委员会委员陈妙财律师，台湾律师联合会国际事务委员会副主任委员刘承愚律师，澳门律师公会代表张宏哲大律师以及香港律师会科技委员会委员赵之威律师。人工智能和大数据是当下的新兴话题，吸引了许多听众，也使得分组会场座无虚席。几位嘉宾深入浅出地分享了他们对于人工智能和大数据时代下律师行业的看法，无论是对于尽职调查等律师工种的分析，还是有关人工智能律师能否取代人类律师的激烈讨论，都让台下的观众沉醉其中。随后的互动环节，台下观众更是踊跃提问，和台上嘉宾积极交流。

On 24 October 2017, SW Partner Mr. Eric Lui, Ms. Heidi Chui and Legal Executive Man Wong were invited by Industrial Bank to present the topic of “The Implementation of Cross-border Guarantee and The Basic Legal Concept of Property Mortgage”. The seminar was well received and drew over 40 attendees from Legal and Compliance department, Corporate Banking department, Commercial Banking department, Credit Risk department of Industrial Bank Co., Limited Hong Kong Branch, and all attendees found the sharing both interesting and practical.

SW Partner and Head of Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department Ms. Heidi Chui was invited to deliver a keynote speech on the topic: “The Implementation of Cross-border Guarantee”. Ms. Chui has shared five issues with the audiences including strategy of cross-border guarantee implementation, strategies of asset protection before arbitration, application of Mareva Injunction, asset tests and overview of enforcement of arbitral awards.

The next section is the presentation of our Legal Executive Mr. Man Wong. He has delivered the topic of “The Basic Legal Concept of Property Mortgage” and shared some cases with the participants.

SW partners Mr. Willy Cheng and Ms. Lai Lam attended the Interlaw Annual Global Meeting held in New York from 18-21 October 2017. The Annual Global Meeting was well attended by more than 160 delegates from multiple jurisdictions.

“The Future of Law” was the theme at this year’s AGM. Three industry experts namely, Andrew Stern, The Perelman Fellow at Columbia University’s Center for Business, Law and Public Policy; John Alber, ILTA Futurist and Albie Bollard, Associate Partner of McKinsey & Company led the discussion and insightful commentary on the future of business and the effects of exponential change in the workplace. During the AGM, Mr. Cheng and Ms. Lam also attended several Special Business Team Meetings and interacted with many other Interlawyers from within and outside of the Asia Pacific Region.

The Second AllBright Football Championship was successfully held in Jinan on 15 October 2017. It was first time for AllBright (Shenzhen) Office and Stevenson, Wong & Co. to be joint team participating in the competition. Shanghai team and our team had nip-and-tuck battle in the 3rd place. The match was finished by penalty shoot-out finally and the second runner-up was Shanghai team. The winner of the championship was Jinan team and the Qingdao team was first runner-up.

On 13-14 October 2017, Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partner, Ms. Sherlynn Chan attended the symposium on Special Needs Financial Planning, organized by The University of Hong Kong Faculty of Law. The Symposium discussed three important topics relating to financial planning for people with special needs i.e. special needs trust, adult guardianship and the enduring power of attorney.

The symposium started with the opening remarks from the Commissioner of Rehabilitation from HKSAR Government, Mr. David Leung, JP. In the two-day symposium with more than 10 experts including Professors University of Canberra, Hanyang University, University of Hong Kong, Chuo University, University of Sydney and Singapore Management University, lawyers, managers and the former Senior Judge of the UK. Court of Protection – Mr Denzil Lush.
