(中文) 史蒂文生黄参加锦天城第四届模拟法庭大赛

(中文) 2019年5月25日至26日,史蒂文生黄律师事务所 (以下简称“本所”)合伙人,诉讼及争议解决部主管徐凯怡律师、诉讼团队卢家俊律师、张俊燊律师、黄晊晄实习律师、殷律衡实习律师和甘子豪律师助理,出席第四届锦天城律师事务所“诉辩对决之山城弈战”模拟法庭大赛。

第四届锦天城律师事务所模拟法庭大赛由上海市锦天城律师事务所主办,锦天城诉讼与仲裁专业委员会、上海锦天城 (重庆) 律师事务所承办,西南政法大学协办。

本所卢家俊律师作为领队,黄晊晄实习律师和甘子豪律师助理作为参赛选手,共同代表本所出赛,与来自全国22支参赛队伍切磋交流,并荣获晋级。

在经历了四轮比赛的激烈角逐后,本次模拟法庭大赛由锦天城深圳代表队夺得大赛冠军,锦天城北京代表队摘得亚军,锦天城上海代表队与苏州代表队荣获季军。

本所通过此次比赛,与锦天城律师事务所同仁们更多地交流学习,加深友谊,进一步加强了内地与香港司法实践的相互了解,也更进一步深化了本所与锦天城律师事务所的互信与合作。

(中文) 史蒂文生黄出席国际青年律师会 (AIJA) 年中论坛,并担任演说嘉宾

(中文) 2019年5月24日,史蒂文生黄律师事务所合伙人,诉讼与争议及解决部主管徐凯怡律师,受邀出席由国际青年律师会 (International Association of Young Lawyers) 在香港嘉里酒店举办的年中论坛,并担任演说嘉宾,分享“国际刑事犯罪中的资产追踪”主题演说。

本次活动的演说嘉宾和观众多是来自全球不同国家和地区的青年法律执业人士,对国际争议解决、银行、金融和资本市场等候法律业务进行了多方意见交换。

Stevenson, Wong & Co. Attended the “Mediate First” Pledge 2019 and the Star Logo Award Presentation Ceremony

On 24 May 2019, Stevenson, Wong & Co. partners Ms. Catherine Por, Ms. Sherlynn Chan and senior associate Ms. Hazel Wong attended The “Mediate First” Pledge 2019 and the Star Logo Award Presentation Ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event was organized by The Department of Justice (DoJ) and supported by key players in the field of mediation in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), of which Stevenson, Wong & Co. is one. The theme of this year’s event was “Mediate First – Unlocking Potential”. The event attracted more than 1000 attendees.

The opening speech of The Forum was delivered by the Honourable Teresa Cheng, GBS, SC, JP Secretary for Justice, HKSARG. She spoke of the opportunities for further development of mediation locally, regionally and internationally. The Honourable Mr. Justice Lim Chong Fong, High Court Judge of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and The Honourable Madam Justice Lisa Wong, Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court, HKSAR then respectively delivered keynote speeches. The Forum contained with six sessions, including “Mediation: Getting to Win-Win in Sports Disputes”, “Can Mediators be Deal Makers?”, “Latest developments of investment mediation”, “Mediation for the Community”, “Industry Sharing” and “Creative Solution for the Creative Industry”.

To explain the mediation process and clarify some misconceptions about mediation, there was a short drama demonstrated by Prof. TK Iu, MH, acted by Ms. Jocelyn Choi. Ms. Scarlett Chan, registered social worker and Mr. Victor Yuen, barrister, both currently students of the mediator training course were invited to share their experience with the Forum attendees. The forum ended with closing remarks delivered by Dr. James Ding, Commissioner, Inclusive Dispute Avoidance and Resolution Office of The Department of Justice.

The Star Logo Award Presentation Ceremony followed by the Forum. The Honourable Teresa Cheng, GBS, SC, JP, The Honourable Mr. Justice Johnson Lam, V-P and The Honourable Vincent Lo, GBM, GBS, JP presented the Star Logo Awards to 40 organizations that evening. Stevenson, Wong & Co. is delighted to have been amongst the organizations in receiving Awards and one of the first to sign the “Mediate First” Pledge. We are committed to first explore the use of mediation in resolving disputes.

Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partner Ms. Sherlynn Chan Attended “Symposium on Child-focused Collaborative Practice to Promote the Wellbeing of Children in Divorced Families”

On 23 May 2019, Stevenson, Wong & Co. (“SW”) partner Ms. Sherlynn Chan attended “Symposium on Child-focused Collaborative Practice to Promote the Wellbeing of Children in Divorced Families” held at the Hong Kong Productivity Council. The symposium was organized by Hong Kong Family Welfare Society (“HKFWS”) and attracted few hundred attendees including social workers, counsellors, psychologists, family mediators, legal professionals, teachers & other interested parties in family-related fields.

In the morning session, The Honourable Mr. Justice Johnson Lam Man Hon, Vice-President of the Court of Appeal of the High Court, Ms. Ann Marie Termini, Co-Founder and Director of the Cooperative Parenting Institute (CPI), U.S.A. & Consultant of the “Beam of Hope” Project of HKFWS and Dr. Lau Yuk King, Professional Consultant of Department of Social Work at The Chinese University of Hong Kong were invited to delivered keynote speeches respectively. They discussed 3 issues with the audiences, including “How to Enhance Wellbeing of Children in Divorced Families from Legal Perspective”, “How “CPI” Parenting Coordination Model Facilitates Divorced Parents to be Child-focused” and “Working Together: Effectiveness of CPI Model in Co-parenting and Parenting Coordination Service”.

“A Cross-sector Dialogue” was moderated by Ms. Eunis Vu, Social Work Consultant of HKFWS. Ms. Dora Lee (Chief Social Work Officer, (Domestic Violence), Social Welfare Department, Mr. Dennis Ho, Chairman of the Family Law Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong, Ms. Tsui, Principal of E.L.C.H.K Kwai Shing Lutheran Primary School and Chairman of the Kwai Chung District Primary School Heads Association, Mrs. Ruth Wong Chan Tsz Ying, Senior Coordinator (Mediation Services) of HKFWS and Mr. Kenny Cheng, Parenting Coordinator of HKFWS discussed the topic of “How Collaborative Practice and Intervention Promotes the Wellbeing of Children in Divorced Families”.

Mrs. Lai Wong Suet Wing, Parenting Coordinator and Divorce Service Team of HKFWS shared the various service approaches and practice experiences such as “Co-parenting and Parenting Coordination Service”, “Parent-child Contact Service”, “Support Services for Non-residing Fathers”, “Intervention and Support Services for Children Facing Parental Conflicts from Divorced Families”.

The guests shared their experience on the “child-focused” services for divorced families and facilitate collaborations in the field, so as to enhance the wellbeing of children in divorced families.
