Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partner Ms. Heidi Chui has been appointed by the Medical Council of Hong Kong, on the nomination of the Council of the Law Society of Hong Kong, to be a Lay Assessor with effect from 3 October 2018 for a term of three years.
Lay Assessor is appointed under section 20BB of the Medical Registration Ordinance. Assessors may be appointed as members of the Preliminary Investigation Committee, the Inquiry Panel and/or the Health Committee of the Council.

Ms. Heidi Chui is an Arbitrator (on the panel list of the Law Society of Hong Kong), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (U.K.) and an Accredited General Mediator with both the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the Law Society of Hong Kong. She is also a member of the Arbitration Committee of The Law Society of Hong Kong and a China Appointed Attesting Officer. She has been appointed as an Expert on the professional Committee on Real Estate Arbitration of China Academy of Arbitration Law, a Practising Solicitor Member of the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal Panel and a member of Disciplinary Panel A of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The Immigration Tribunal was established in 1980 under the Immigration Ordinance, Cap. 115, to deal with appeals lodged under the Immigration Ordinance.

(中文) 2018年9月28日,香港律师会第二届「『一带一路』法律论坛」假香港会议展览中心圆满举行,史蒂文生黄律师事务所合伙人徐凯怡律师为论坛担任主持。论坛由香港律师会主办,以「建构智能『一带一路』:法律与人工智能、区块链和云端」为主题,有百多位嘉宾参加,本所合伙人黄启豪律师及张源辉律师亦出席是次论坛。论坛聚焦在人工智能在法律界的发展和应用,以及它对「一带一路」倡议下的跨司法区交易的影响。

论坛设有三个环节,每个环节将设分论坛,同时探讨人工智能、区块链及云端三大议题,共分为九个部分。来自尖端科技公司、企业、政府部门、监管机构和律师事务所的著名讲者,应邀就不同议题进行讨论,例如人工智能的道德问题、跨境贸易的未来:金融科技与智能合约、云端的兴起及机器学习法律与法规、自动化与法律专业、应用区块链的潜在风险、以及与个人私隐、网络安全、云端运算等相关的问题。

徐律师表示十分荣幸代表香港律师会主持 「建构智能一带一路:法律与人工智能、区块链和云端」法律论坛,十分期待区块链、分布式分类帐技术(DLT)、智能合约、金融科技如何改变未来交易的流程和行业生态。

On 20 September 2018, Stevenson, Wong & Co. Partner Ms. Heidi Chui attended “2018 FINTECH & DIGITAL INNOVATION: Unleash the Power of Hong Kong as the “Super Connector” in the Greater Bay Area” held at the headquarters of AMTD. The summit was organized by AMTD Group and attracted participants from different industries.

The summit started with opening remarks delivered by CEO of Capital Markets & Advisory of AMTD Group Dr. Frederic Lau. Head of Fintech at InvestHK Mr. Charles D’Haussy and Fintech Head, Partners Team, Hong Kong Cyberport Mr. Charles Lam were invited to deliver the keynote speeches. Investors from new economic sectors were invited to share their views and experiences, and to explore Hong Kong’s efforts and achievements in promoting financial technology cooperation and innovation in the Greater Bay Area.
The first panel discussion was moderated by the Vice Chairman of Global Advisory Committee of AMTD Group and Chief Executive Officer of L.R. Capital Group Mr. Raymond Yung. He discussed the topic of “Power of FinTech and Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area with the panelists including member of Financial Services Development Council New Business Committee and Founder JP Asia Partners Ltd Mr. Christophe Lee, Founder & CEO of FinEx Asia Mrs. Maggie Ng, Chief Architect of Nova Credit Limited Mr. Albert Lo, Chairmen and CEO of Fox Fintech Group Mr. Alex Ho and Co-Founder & Director of Qupital Mr. Winston Wong.

The theme of the second panel discussion was “Hong Kong Entrepreneurship and Extended Opportunities under the Greater Bay Area Context” which was moderated by Co-CEO of AMTD Strategic Capital Group Ms. Angie Lin. Successful entrepreneurs in Hong Kong including Founder & CEO of DayDay Cook Ms. Norma Chu, Co-Founder of GOGOVAN and CEO of Kuaigou Dache Mr. Steven Lam, Founder & CEO of Kowloon Estadium Mr. Roy Kwong, Founder & CEO of OneDegree Mr. Alvin Kwock and Founder & Director of Qupital Mr. Andy Chan were invited to discuss their understanding regarding of the innovative spirit of Hong Kong entrepreneurs and share how to grasp opportunities in the current economic and technological environment.
