Stevenson, Wong & Co. presented at Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited

On 4 December 2014, SW senior associate Ms. Freda Au, legal executives Mr. Stanley Hung, Mr. Man Wong and Ms. Anita Tong delivered a presentation on various topics at the New Territories West Commercial Centre – Corporate Banking and Financial Institutions of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (“BOCHK”). Over 30 representatives from BOCHK attended the seminar.

In the first part of the seminar, Mr. Wong and Mr. Hung delivered a presentation on the relevant rules regarding how property and share transactions are subject to laws and regulations on stamp duty in Hong Kong, with practical case example illustrations.

In the second part, Ms. Tong made a presentation on the recent development in immigration practices and provided a brief overview on the investor immigration programme in Hong Kong.

All attendees from BOCHK found the presentation and the topics discussed practical and informative.

Presentation at AllBright Law Offices

Stevenson, Wong & Co. presented at AllBright Law Offices in Chengdu on asset protection and succession planning

On 2 December 2014, SW partner Mr. Eric Lui and our China Business Development Officer (China) Ms. Connie Yeung delivered a presentation to the PRC lawyers of AllBright Law Offices in Chengdu on the topics of asset protection and succession planning.

SW delivered a detailed presentation on the deficiencies of using nominee arrangements, traditional succession planning tools such as wills, merits of using trust structure in asset protection, case examples in the use of trust structure including private trust companies, misunderstanding of residence program and citizenship program, considerations in citizenship planning and program of low tax jurisdiction for high net worth individuals.

The presentation was well-received and participants found that the solutions provided were comprehensive, practical and problem-solving.
